Mother's Day

Maybe you tend to forget it during your everyday life - but today we remind you why your mother is simply the best thing in the world. Your relationship with your mother is the first relationship you form and experience. This relationship is incredibly important and affects your expectations of all other relationships in life.

You may have discovered that your mother may have taught you a thing or two that didn’t turn out to be true or you might have thought she was crazy embarrassing during your teens - yet she is likely one of the most important people in your life.  Even though you are an adult (and it may have been a long time since you moved away from home), it's nice to know that your mom is always just a phone call away. She gives you a special kind of security - whether it takes form in her special recipe for meatballs, in her listening to you telling her about your new job or just being able to talk about everything and getting her advice .

Being friends with your mom

Over the last couple decades, the relationship between mothers and daughters have changed and many experience a close friendship with their mom. Young women no longer see their mothers as being "old" and we want to spend quality time with them. Maybe you even have exactly the same taste in clothes, want to watch the same movies, go to the gym or go to yoga together.

However, it is natural that your mother will likely always have a sense of responsibility towards you, and it is quite normal that you may become angry or frustrated when you think she is controlling or interfering too much in your life. There is no doubt she does it just to help, guide and take care of you; that is simply one of her qualities as a mother. You may find that as you get older and become a mother yourself, you can see many of her qualities in yourself and even catch yourself saying things to your children, sounding exactly like your mother did to you.
